Remembering Gilles Villeneuve

On May 8th, 1982, we lost Canada’s great Gilles Villeneuve - the mighty driver always remembered by his number 27.

Gilles Villeneuve is remembered for his outstanding performances during his 67 Grands Prix, out of which he won six, including a memorable wheel-to-wheel fight with Rene Arnoux in France in 1979.

Villeneuve lost his light May 8th 1982 after a crash in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix. His legacy carries on.
